Pregnancy Update: 38 Weeks!

Baby is FULL TERM!

This pregnancy, of the three pregnancies I've been through thus far, has been the hardest both physically and mentally but I am so thankful to God and my family for helping me get through these thirty-eight weeks. Without them, I honestly don't know how I (or TheHubby and TheLittles for that matter) would have survived it.

We are so blessed to be pregnant with Baby#3, but man were these past nine months long. Morning sickness is definitely NO JOKE - at least not for this pregnant body. But we all can't wait to meet our third little man, especially the boys. They keep asking when he's going to arrive :)

I know in my heart I'm meant to be a MOM OF BOYS and I am super thankful for the opportunity to love on these three (soon to be four!) guys. Adding another little boy into the mix will be crazy - believe me, having 2 boys is already super crazy around here! - but it's another little life for TheHubby and I to love, so I'll take the exhaustion and chaos any day! :)

Snack Boxes - July 6-10, 2015

Wednesday, July 15, 2015

A couple of friends have shown interest in the snacks I send with TheBoy to preschool (now summer camp), so I took this opportunity to take pictures of the snacks I pack him every morning. We usually grocery shop on Sunday and I always try to buy fruits that are in season and on sale. I also attempt to pack TheBoy at least three of the four food groups (fruits and vegs, grains, milk & meats) in each snack box.

Right now, he has one main nutritional snack break so I pack a lot of food just in case he is hungry. When he starts JK in September, he will have one snack break in the morning and then lunch. Thus, his snacks won't be nearly as big as they are now, but his lunches will most likely be bigger.

Anyway, onto the pictures of TheBoy's First Week of Summer Camp snack boxes:

A gala apple, red grapes, dried blueberries (in the rainbow snack box),
sliced garlic sausage and a Babybel cheese (with an N cut out)

A gala apple, strawberries, sliced cucumber,
dried mangoes (in the rainbow snack box) and grilled chicken strips

Strawberries, red grapes, Babybel cheese (with a heart cutout),
dried blueberries (in the rainbow snack box) and sliced turkey sausage

Strawberries, ham rollups,
Babybel cheese and some garlic bagel bites

Strawberries, cheese circles, garlic bagel bites,
goldfish ( in the rainbow snack box), and sliced turkey sausage.

To be honest, my snack boxes aren't as diverse as I would like them to be.  TheBoy is quite the picky eater so I tend to pack his favourite foods (and when he has a favourite "something", he'll want to eat it day after day after day.)  He's also a super SLOW eater, so I'm not sure what'll happen when JK rolls around... LittlePeanut, on the other hand, is open to trying new foods and isn't nearly as picky as his older brother.  I'm excited to pack him school lunches as I know I'll be able to dive in and get super creative with his snacks and lunches.  At least I hope so!

So there it is, our first week of camp, in snack boxes! :)

Pregnancy Update: 26 Weeks

Tuesday, July 7, 2015

I am currently 26 weeks into my pregnancy (almost the third trimester!!) and happy to report that I'm feeling a lot better.  The morning sickness is still there, everyday for most of the day, but the intensity isn't nearly as debilitating as it was during the first two trimesters. Praise God for that!  I've actually started to prepare and cook meals again (horray!) which I have been truly grateful for.

TheBoy & LittlePeanut are also super eager and excited to meet their little... BROTHER!  Yes, that's right, we're having yet another little boy to add to the BOY CLUB we seem to have started.  TheHubby and I are also very excited for three boys, all two years apart in age.  I pray they grow up to be very close brothers :)

One more trimester to go.  Praying it will be a great upcoming couple of months!

Snail Mail Challenge // Week 5

Getting back to the challenge, 6 months later...

One of my very first pen pals was someone I met at teacher's college a few years back.  We both attended, not knowing anyone, but instantly gravitated towards one another.  Looking back, I can see how God purposely brought us together because not only is she my pen pal, but a friend whose friendship I cherish greatly.

We both have been through three difficult pregnancies together (I'm still in my 3rd) so it's nice to have someone who really 'gets' me when it comes to morning sickness and my kids.  I guess the only difference is that she has three little girls and I will have three little boys :p

So to my friend, Felicia, have a lovely birthday! Wishing you God's best this year and perhaps another pregnancy to look forward to soon! :)

Hello!

So, it's been quite a while since I last posted, huh? Instead of spewing out a long list of excuses, I will just say this, "We are expecting!" Yes we are. BabyBoy #3 will be making his appearance sometime this October!

For those who know me, my body doesn't handle pregnancy hormones well. My first 5 months have been... difficult. I wish it only affected me, but when I get pregnant, it seems like my parents and in laws get 'pregnant' too, not to mention TheHubby. My mom-in-law helped watch TheBoy almost daily, something I was totally grateful and thankful for! Both sets of parents also made food for us (every week!) because I was pretty much unable to feed my own family. And TheHubby. I can't even begin to explain how awesome he is :) Needless to say, at 23 weeks, I am starting to feel somewhat normal again. Praise the Lord!!

It's crazy to think that I am only now starting to realize how thankful I am for a healthy body. With migraines, nausea and all day heartburn, it was really difficult on my body, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. More on that in my next few posts :)

Until then, our little family of 4 is enjoying the time we have until baby boy makes us, officially, a family of 5!

Snail Mail Challenge // Week 4

Sunday, February 8, 2015

This week, my snail mail letter(s) go out to my brother and my brother-in-law's wife (sister-in-law?) who both share the same birthday :)

When I think of my little brother, I am reminded of the small boy who used to jump into my bed at night when there was a thunderstorm outside.  I would always act like thunder and lightning weren't scary but secretly, I loved the company. Today, my brother towers over me, makes more money than I ever did, and is one super great uncle. I am so thankful to have such a thoughtful and giving brother. The boys get spoiled silly during birthdays and Christmas just by my brother alone.

As well, I'm thankful for my brother-in-law's wife because in many ways, we're very similar.  There are times when we talk about our husbands (who are brothers) and I feel she's the only one who really gets me. Not in a bad way, just in a way that most other people wouldn't.  Needless to say, I'm glad he married her and that we've become such good friends these past few years.

So to both these special people in my life, I wish you a year full of God's amazing and abundant blessings!

Snail Mail Challenge // Week 3

Friday, January 30, 2015

This week's snail mail goes out to a good friend of mine. She's currently going through big changes in her life but her faith in the Lord, even though things have been turned upside down, is clearly evident.

"Be still and know that I am God..." Psalm 46:10, is a verse she's clinging onto and I can't help but be uplifted by it myself.

Our little family has been passing around a cough and runny nose, for weeks now, and I can't help but sometimes feel at a loss with TheBoy and LittlePeanut.  Their patience is already super short, as expected with little kids, but add in runny noses, sore throats and crazy coughs, our patience (on all fronts) is pretty much nonexistent.

So, the verse is a great reminder for me to take time out of my everyday to be still even when the kiddos are screaming and jumping off the wall.  Which, in our case, is everyday!  Despite everything, God is God. And that alone is just awesome.
